School zone

Smartest education building in the Netherlands

A new construction project in which the existing location was replaced in phases by a school zone including site layout and outbuildings. With the new building for Zone.college’s pre-vocational secondary education location Doetinchem, our client wanted to create a healthy and inspiring environment. The building had to be able to adapt to changes within the organization and be geared to the behavior and needs of both students and teachers.

A low-tech building with high-tech performance has been created together with Binx. Circular materials were used and the school was given a sustainable and circular energy and water management system that is part of a local ecosystem.

Tendering

Vision, translation and collaboration

A tender for four years has been issued for this process, for which Eromaresko has subscribed. With our registration we answered the question of how we would support the Zone.college in translating the educational vision into a design concept especially for these courses.

Get vision clear

By asking questions and coming up with ideas, we were able to help location director René Vijn and his colleagues from Zone.college to sharpen their educational vision and we got all the requirements and wishes above water. Our interior architect incorporated these points into a proposal, which we further refined after discussion with the customer.

Multiple purposes

All areas are designed based on learning activities. We have used various types of furniture so that the spaces can be used for different purposes: giving instructions, collaboration, consultation, concentrated work, etc.
